KEEPING CHILDHOOD ALIVE!

It doesn't really matter that Primark reckoned it only sold a few padded bikini tops - the fact is that they have backed down from sexualising girls clothes.
Their attitude to fashion is part of the reason I started the Zuma the Dog range. What sort of message does it send to young girls if their chests are being drawn attention to like that. More importantly, what a lack of imagination from their designers and irresponsiblity for putting those sort of clothing lines out into the mass market.
I've not gone down the swimwear route. Strictly unisex and definitely no padded bits.
Everytime I look at my website I smile. I'm dead chuffed with what I've achieved in a short time bringing together a range that is bright and cheerful and definitely not sexualising kids clothes.

New Styles

It's been a busy couple of weeks at the Zuma the Dog kennels with a huge number of new products on the website and some exciting news for the brand.
The new t-shirts and long sleeve tops have arrived and I'm thrilled about how the sketches have become reality in only a few months.
Bright green, orange and yellow are the colours that will give every child, boy or girl, a distinctive look and a little canine friend they will love showing off to their friends and seeing in the mirror.
The long sleeve tops have an unusual amount of detail for one of my designs, but I've avoided some of the meaningless rubbish that often goes on a lot of kids' clothes and kept it simple; stars, lots of them and it helps continue the concept of light and brightness that has attracted so many people to Zuma the Dog.
What's the point with so many kids' clothes being littered with slogans and statements that mean nothing to them or are so cliched we are embarrassed to clothe our kids in them.
You maybe wondering what the exciting news for the brand was while I was in mid flow in my rant. I don't want to say just yet, only that it means a lot of work for Zuma's little helper and that I hope I will have plenty to tell you in the next post.
Thanks for all your support.

Who would have believed that buying children's clothes would have been anything but a joy. Most primary schools have some sort of uniform that they avoided when most of us were young, meaning that the little darlings don't need half of what they once did.
So why is it that boys' and girls' clothes lack the sort of vibrancy and variety that we want in every other part of our children's lives. It's almost as if a uniform imposed on them in the schools is now being imposed on them by the stores, too. Boys have their colours, girls have theirs and both follow the regimented designs of the High Street.

There is another way, by checking out http://www.zumathedog.com/ where the woofilicious new wonder in children's fashion has a range of t-shirts, jeans, hoodies and accessories in colours that will stand out among the drab boys' and garish girls' colours
