SMALL DOG RETURNS TO SCHOOL

ZUMA THE DOG HEADS UP A GAMING PROJECT AT UCS

Bertish and Company Ltd, the creator and owner of children’s character brand Zuma the Dog, is excited to announce their collaboration with University Centre Somerset.

Brand creator Samantha Bertish recently attended the university to present the project to students attending the graphic design, gaming, marketing, and business courses. The cross-course project involves students to work in groups and act as agencies to pitch their ideas to Bertish and Co. for a Zuma the Dog game to be created in the popular creator gaming platform Roblox. The winning pitch will get to work closely with Bertish to create the game expected to go live early summer 2023. The students will be offered a licensing agreement to bring the project into the real world, where they have the opportunity to manage the game and monetize it, generating income for themselves.

“Being back at my old college after 30 years to present this project has been amazing,” said Bertish. “Engaging with students and being able to offer an ongoing project that could eventually lead to jobs managing the game is an exciting opportunity for both the students and me. I’m loving this chance to work with the future work force of the creative world, simulating how it is to work in the real world and offer the benefit of my experience. I too was a student at the university and hopefully, I can inspire these young adults to follow their dreams to work within this fast-changing creative world of today.”

With continued popularity in the under 13 age group, Roblox is proving to be one of the best gaming platforms for Zuma the Dog to spread its message of tolerance, anti-bullying, and diversity education through this Zuma the Dog and Friends game. This world will cross over with that of the world created for other projects expected to be announced Q2 of 2023 to keep some continuity across the “Zumaverse”. Details of the actual game are yet to be confirmed, though the brand will focus on, character development, anti-bullying messaging, education, and player experience to keep users choosing Zuma the Dog and Friends time again.

The new AR gaming apparel has now launched and can be purchased exclusively from Zuma the Dog's website. For retailers interested in stocking merchandise by Zuma the Dog, please email Samantha Bertish at sam@zumathedog.com and for licensees who want to collaborate with Zuma the Dog on new projects please contact Brand Manager Sarah Camp at sarah@contagiousmediagroup.com

Small Dog Requires Kids Clothing Agency

Brand owner Samantha Morgan-Bertish is searching for the perfect children’s clothing agency to work with to grow her brand within the UK. The online brand has had success selling through various online marketplaces and trialled their products in Pop-up shops and are now ready to see their clothing line on the shelves of retailers and independent boutiques in the UK and are looking for experienced agents to make this possible.

It’s important to the brand owner that Zuma the Dog remains a true “British” brand with is design and manufacturing being in the U.K and focussing its sales growth here too.

“Finding the right agency to represent our unique brand with our fun colourful style is important to us.” Says Samantha. “With the launch of our digital VOD series in the summer, it’s important to partner with the right team to manage the rapid growth we expect from the exposure we will gain from our children’s series and build strong long term business relationships.”

Zuma the Dog kids brand was created in Somerset in 2009, inspired by the family pet and welcomes agencies, wholesalers and distributors to make contact via email at zuma@zumathedog.com or call 07778669680

Small Dog Join Pop Up Squad

It's always Go Go Go at Zuma the Dog HQ and as if Mummy didn't have enough to do working for ME on my brand, she's also got herself involved with other projects too. Sounds to me this is quite a worthy one, where Mummy can pass on the benefit of her expertise and advise those looking to start up for themselves. Here's the press release below.

Glastonbury based children’s brand Zuma the Dog become adviser with You Tube Channel.

Brand owner Samantha Morgan-Bertish is proud to announce her collaboration as an adviser with new You Tube Channel My Perfect Pop Up Shop. After working for several years with pop up shops to launch her children’s brand, Zuma the Dog, Samantha was asked by fellow entrepreneur and author Daisy White to join her new initiative in helping other small business owners when setting up their own pop up shops.

“My Perfect Pop Up Shop has been designed to inform, inspire and create the biggest global archive of pop ups. There’s advice from experienced Pop Up shop owners and entrepreneurs too”. Explains Daisy White. “The Do’s the Don’ts and tips from Pop-ups from around the world”.

The channel was launched in September this year and has been gaining popularity in recent months. “I am excited to be asked to join this fantastic new project as a “Pop UP Squad” member”. Says Morgan-Bertish. “Believe me, I’ve not exactly got it right in the past and have a lot of advice to offer”.

You can subscribe to My Perfect Pop Up Shop on You Tube for free and see Samantha’s video from Portugal and advice from other Pop Up Squad members.

You can also follow on Facebook too.

That's certainly something I would look out for if I was starting out again. But you know what? The best place is being the boss. Have everyone do it all for me.It's not so easy for me to do the hard work. I don't have thumbs!

Much Love

Little Dog signs Licensing Agent

So, this is why Mummy has been so busy just lately. Would have been nice to know she was signing me to an agent. I guess now I can say "Talk to my agent!"
Zuma the Dog finds growth through Licensing

Glastonbury based start up Children’s brand Zuma the Dog is excited to announce they have now signed a Licensing Agent. Those Licensing People based in North Yorkshire is set to grow the brands awareness outside its original clothing line.

TLP will represent Zuma the Dog, with an initial project being a TV series aimed at 4-6 year olds to be broadcast worldwide via its YouTube Channel Zuma the Dog TV. This will open up Zuma the Dog to an international market and give the ability for the brand to extend outside its current online market with licensed products such as stationary, plush collectibles, toys, gifts and apps. Award winning marketing company Weird Lime will be heading up all the marketing to compliment all licensed products. “This is an exciting step forward for Zuma the Dog”. Says owner/creator Samantha Morgan “we are really looking forward to working with TLP and Weird Lime and will continue to make sure Zuma the Dog’s core brand philosophy stays in the forefront of the TV series and any new licensed products.”

Samantha will continue to concentrate her efforts on the clothing line and hopes the licensed products will bring more brand awareness and free up time for her to continue designing fabulous fashion for kids.

Little Stuffed Zuma is all ready
for Christmas
What exciting news this is to end what has been a fabulous year for the whole family. I can't wait to see myself on TV and going over right now to subscribe to Zuma the Dog TV. I suggest you do the same to be sure you get the very latest on the TV show.

Exciting Times for Zuma the Dog

It may have appeared in recent months that we have been quiet on our social network sites, but there is always something happening behind the scenes, at home and with business. Mummy is always heading off here and there. Meeting for this, meeting for that, but lately I see something big is happening and Mummy seems more excited than usual.

She has explained that some people in a country called China has taken a real interest in ME! Yay! GO ME! But I think she is referring to my clothing line. She has been talking at length with them for many months now and they would like to launch the brand in the Chinese market starting with their own stores and act as our agent to grow Zuma the Dog nationwide.

How exciting is that!?
This is such an awesome opportunity and with this will come some hard work and Mummy will now need to look at funding and investment to make this happen and she is even looking in to taking on a partner to complement the skills she already has. This will mean a real change for Zuma the Dog, a step up in the business world and a chance to step out on the worldwide market and become a real competitor in Children's clothing.

To get the ball rolling she has launched a Kickstarter campaign and hoping you will all like to have a hand in helping our little brand develop and achieve its potential in growing into the household name we know it can be.

Go on! Have a little look see at this link make a pledge and remember to share, share, share the love.

With Zuma the Dog in the Chinese marketplace we are really making progress with our vision.

Much Love as always

Back to School

So, this week is Back to School week. I don’t know about you, but it has certainly been a very long summer break. Master C certainly needs to be back amongst his friends and Mummy really needs to get back into work mode and get her focus back to ME and all things that surround ME! Ten weeks is really far too long for the schools to be closed in my opinion.

I spent a good chunk of my time hang out with my favourite trainer, playing at his farm and being generally quite spoilt, while Mummy and Master C gallivanted across the globe in search of inspiration for new styles and Mummy tells me she even wrote a new Zuma the Dog book. Can’t wait to start seeing that come to life.

Mummy said she was sorry that I couldn’t come with her and was sad I couldn’t experience all the fun they had in Brazil and England. She took stuffed Zuma with her to make up for it and it does look like he had a great time. To be honest though, I know I had the best time where I was and as much as they enjoyed seeing lots of new things and making friends with strange new creatures, rolling around in a dusty old farm, digging up rotten old balls and long walks on the sunset beach is a much better holiday for me.

Apparently Stuffed Zuma got really good at photo bombing and here are some of Mummy's snap shots to prove it.
Relaxing and enjoying the river in the Rainforest of Brazil

"Look Mummy, this is where they grow Bananas"

"Don't you think this would make a great location for a photo shoot for Zuma the Dog?"

The locals are so friendly

Super fun ride on the cable car. Mummy and Daddy zipped lined down this.

Awesome view of Balneario Camboriu from Unipraias Adventure park

We loved all the animals and birds at the Botanical Gardens in Joinville

A romantic trip through the Rain Forest by train

So many palm trees at Rua da Palmeira

I am relaxed and ready to face my public and enjoy what is ahead for Zuma the Dog. New school term equal new adventures for us all. Bring them on!

Much Love

Back to Business

We love learning language at our office, new words every day. I’m learning Pekingese, Dachshund and Shih Tzu. and I have to say the accent on Shih Tzu is quite difficult to get to grips with. Foreign language learning for children is really important in the world we all live in today and here at Zuma the Dog HQ we are continuously looking for new ways to promote our new bilingual books series as well as the books of our affiliates.

Our original book series can be bought online and in goodbook retailers, but our bilingual range is a little more niche and we have come up with a plan to get this range into your homes with Zuma the Dog – Books at Home. This is the chance for you to get the books at home. Sell the books and earn commission on sales. Meet new people. Hold parties and events. Build a network and earn commission on their sales and work all this around your daily routine. Sounds pawsome to me!

Print & colour activities for parties
and events
It’s simple to get started just email us at zuma@zumathedog.com to order your starter kit, which includes 15 books, 10 stuffed dog key rings, our printable Books at Home catalogue and order form and other children's activities.

Stuffed key rings comes in your
starter pack

Build your network and become a team leader and watch your income grow. Below shows a simple diagram of how this can work for you.

It's up to you how many team members you have on level two and how many team members your level two team want to take on. Remember the bigger your team, the more you earn!

It's easy, simple and fun! I am here to take your enquiry. Get in touch today!

Lights! Camera! Action!

This year seems to be flying past so fast, spring has certainly settled in and before we know it summer will be here. There has been so many bank holidays just lately and Master C has been off school, so Mummy has had less time for me. I’ve spent some time woofing at the postman and the builders working on the house next door and dreaming about what I would do if they accidentally fell off the wall and landed in the garden. I’m pretty sure I would give them a nice fright, just for my own pleasure. It’s funny seeing humans jump when they hear my high pitch woof.

Mummy and Master C have spent some time over the Easter break being creative and making animated movies starring yours truly. Master C has had fun creating his characters, making the Popagami army and drawing the scenery and I’ve enjoyed watching them focusing on ME! Even though it is indirectly. The movie has made me out to be the hero (as I am), fighting the evil alien invaders and It’s been nice seeing my human family have fun together doing creative activities. For a small boy Master C really does have a great imagination. The result is pawsome! Check it out here and feel free to share his talent. It would be dogtastic to see this go viral!

I’m pretty sure Mummy will find a way to use this as a way to market my clothing brand. There is always something going on here at Zuma the Dog HQ and often I get dragged into being involved one way or another. I'm seven and a half now and getting too old for all this silliness! I think I’m going to just sit here for a while, staring out to the garden and dream up other ways the world can focus it’s attention on me.

The Ending Summer

The summer is starting to come to an end and for many of us it feels like it just got started. I’ve had a great time off, a wonderful doggy holiday, but now we are getting back into the full swing of it. The kids will soon be back at school and it’s only a matter of week before we start to celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! Can you believe that?

Samples heading out to new distributors
Zuma the Dog head office was at a standstill for a while, due to Daddy Zuma having a serious accident, an eight week hospital stay and weeks of hospital treatment and physiotherapy. Now we have slipped into a nice little routine which includes the hospital visits, HQ is moving forward again. We’ve been busy catching up and Mummy Zuma has been hard at it again securing new distributors, covering the USA, Russia and Ukraine. Along with the licensing deals signed at the beginning of the summer Zuma the Dog is set for large growth in business over the next year. Summer 2014 order are being taken, winter 2014 range is designed and research for summer 2015 is under way. So much going on that we really now need to stay ahead.

Samples heading out all over the world
On top of all this great news we are also being featured in two great magazines over the next two months. Firstly is with Beebo magazine, the Southwest’s must have family magazine. Here we get to tell you all about our brand for those who are not familiar with us and with a cute colouring competition we get to give away one of our hoodies with various other surprises.

In October we are honoured to be featured in CWB magazine, which will expose our brand to all of the Children’s wear stores and boutiques throughout the UK.

For our tiny little family run brand all about me (the family pet) we really are making waves in the big wide world and with all my recent trauma issues almost solved. Life is becoming most pleasurable for Zuma the Dog.

Can I get a high five?

Summer Holidays

Zuma is off having a wonderful time running around the Quinta of his trainer Altino with his other dog buddies and enjoying his summer vacation, so while he is having so much fun. I am left to fill in his work obligation which means writing his blog for this edition.

We visited Zuma yesterday to see how he was getting on and it turns out he’s loving every moment and Altino tells us he is the best behaved dog there. I find that hard to believe, but we are happy that he is calm and relaxed and having a nice time.
Zuma with his Trainer Altino. Loving his holiday time

We are now moving into summer holiday time and we all start to think about what we are going to do with our little ones to keep them occupied during these 6 weeks. For many you will be going on vacation to a sunny resort with family, maybe summer camp is calling, but for most the summer holidays are a time where we can spend time with our kids, choose fun activity and play outside (weather permitting).

We at Zuma the Dog HQ are working away creating new product ideas and designing new ranges to keep you all up with the latest styles and kids trends, but while all this is going on we have also found some time to search for and recommend some activities you can do if the weather changes and need something to do indoors.

We have listed five of our favourites.

1.       Colouring-in crazy? Visit www.zumathedog.com and click on “print & colour” to download free our simple Zuma the dog characters

2.       For creative indoor fun you can download for free our Zuma the dog pop-ette with pals. Go to www.zumathedog.com and click on “print & colour” to see our Popagami Zuma the Dog to colour in and make.

3.       Love Popagami? We recommend you go to www.popagami.com  where you can download full colour versions of Zuma the Dog and other characters to make and create plays and stories with.

4.       We love Tilly and Tam. Doggy friends of Zuma with new stories every week and games to play check out www.tillyandtam.com/playtime/

5.        Lots of free download able craft fun here at http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/crafts

We certainly know that Zuma is playing outside and has gathered together a football team with his other dog buddies. As he is having such a wonderful time I am wondering whether he will want to come home.

Enjoy your summer holidays and play safe whatever you do.

Much Love

Sam (Zuma’s Mummy)

Zuma's Big Brother Budget

I'm writing this as the Government is getting ready to tell us how badly we're going to get stuffed in this emergency budget thingy.
Thankfully it doesn't look like Cameron and his mates are going to slap VAT on children's clothes. That would be a bit of a disaster for parents who are already struggling to pay the bills or get a decent job.
Shopping around you end up with a choice, quality clothes that cost more, or cheaper stuff that fades and frays pretty quickly and don't last until the kids outgrow them. Getting 17.5% added onto any price you pay is going to hurt - so the best way to avoid that is to re-use the clothes you have already - especially if they are timeless, hardwearing and exciting.
Zuma the Dog is a well made and good quality product. We do not make anything in pink or blue. Bright colours only that both boys and girl can look great in. This makes our brand long last and unisex which means it can be passed down from your big brother or sister, or even your friends' children.
Check out www.zumathedog.com to start the new big sister or big brother trend in handmedowns.
